Castle & Coasters host Military Children & Families

Posted May 17, 2014 by Rodney Smith

Military children and families met at one of Arizona's premier family fun and thrill parks at Noon on Saturday, May 17th. Volunteers from Survivor Outreach Program and HHFF greeted the families at check in to lay-out the full day of festivities for close to 60 military children and families.

Castle and Coasters provided a great day of things to do for everyone, featuring a lot of screams! Good screams that is, as more than 60 Survivor and Wounded Warrior children and their families raced go-carts, braved roller coasters and had a little water splashed on them as they rode a hollowed log and navigated the waterfall drops through Pirate's Cove. Everyone's bellies were full of food from the all-you-can-eat taco buffet but that didn't stop them from rolling themselves back out into the park for unlimited rides and four courses of miniature golf. Tanya Abbas, wife of Wounded Warrior Dustin Abbas, said, "...honestly this past Saturday was the first time I have been with my family and laughed since zoo lights even though it down poured the whole night!"

Helping Hands for Freedom is honored to provide the opportunity to help make the families smile and laugh! It is our honor to serve military children and their families.
