Life Enrichment Programs – Connecting children and families in the community

Helping Hands for Freedom brings the children and families together to help them deal with issues only understood by the families of military service members who have a loved one lost or wounded in the line of duty. Examples of activities include: picnics for the families of fallen warriors, history & science museum visits, water & theme parks, Holiday Angel Party, Arcade Day, bowling outings, aquarium visits, MLB baseball games, NFL football games, arena football games, Spring Training baseball games, minor league sporting events, and other family oriented destinations.

2016 Events:

In July, we invited families to the Arizona Snowbowl, where they braved bad weather and rode a chairlift to the top of the mountain.

In June, we invited families in Colorado to join us at Clement Park for family, food, fun, and a fabulous magician.

In May, we invited Gold Star families from across the state to join us at Castles N' Coasters, where they were treated to admission, miniature golf, arcade cash, and an all-you-can-eat taco bar.

In April, we treated the Gold Star wives to lunch at Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant.  Gold Star wives were able to enjoy each others' company while enjoying delicious Mexican food.

In March, we treated Gold Star families to the Wildlife Zoo & Acquarium, where families were able to enjoy time together, watching the animals.  Lunch was catered by Dillon's BBQ.
