Colorado Springs, CO – July 9, 10 & 11 - Malik Jackson of the Denver Broncos hosted the 1st Annual Malik Jackson Youth Football Camp for boys and girls ages 8 to 14 at Pine Creek High School in Colorado Springs from 9am to 12:30pm. Helping Hands for Freedom was honored to feature Malik in one of their signature programs.

Malik shared with the kids the dedication, discipline and sacrifice that it takes to be a champion on the field and off the field. The three day program featured a coaching staff of current and former professional athletes, local high school coaches, college and high school athletes, and other top community volunteers.

Helping Hands for Freedom (HHFF), a 501c3 non-profit organization hosted the camp and provided sponsorship spots for military children of fallen, wounded, deployed, active duty and retired service members through a generous donation by Colorado based charity, Veteran's Passport to Hope.

The camp emphasized fundamentals, form and technique. Campers were grouped according to age, size and ability and the coaches emphasized good work habits, self-discipline, self-motivation and self-confidence. Malik wanted to make sure the camp promoted positive development of youth through sports, while encouraging the importance of an education and the need for a strong work ethic. Practices were intense, upbeat, and crisp in tempo. “I attended youth sports camps as a kid and I know what a difference they can make in the life of a child. It is important to not only challenging the kids on the field, but to focus on life outside of sports. Discipline, dedication and sacrifice are at the core of being successful” says Malik.
