San Diego, CA (July 25, 2014) – Business executive and financial planner, Billy Crafton, has joined Helping Hands for Freedom Circle of Heroes Advisory Committee and is focused on utilizing his experience and contacts to grow the organization nationally.
Based in San Diego, California, Billy plans on featuring professional athletes that he represents to help bring exposure to the organization that serves military children of the fallen, wounded and deployed. Included in his role with the organization is a multi-year financial commitment totaling $100,000 with the first $10,000 going directly to funding the expansion of our Life Enrichment program to cities outside of Arizona.
Our Life Enrichment Programs focus on connecting children and families in the community together to help them deal with issues only understood by the families of military service members who have a loved one lost or wounded in the line of duty. Examples of activities include: Picnics for Military families, History & Science Museum Visits, Water & Fun Theme Parks, Holiday Angel Holiday Party, Arcade Day, Bowling Outings, Aquarium Visits, MLB Baseball Game, NFL Football Games, Arena Football Games, Spring Training Baseball games, Minor League Sporting Events, and other family oriented destinations.
Billy Crafton says, “It is an honor to be a part of an organization that focuses on military children. Having a child of my own, I can’t imagine what it is like for those kids and families when a parent is deployed over and over again, let alone what it is like if a child loses a parent to the war. I feel even if I can do a small part to ease the burdens on the kids, my time and resources are making a valuable difference”.

MILITARY CHILDREN “THE STORY BEHIND THE SCENE”: The children of our wounded service members, and those who lose a parent to war, suffer not only from the devastating loss of a parent and a life-changing home environment, but also from the absence of a significant contributor to their growth, development, and education. Children whose parents serve multiple deployments also face considerable change. To these children facing such significant issues, caring mentors and proven leadership provide the vital support, encouragement, and inspiration to help them reach their goals in life. We work to address the gaps in the military and government’s support for the immediate needs facing our military children and families.
