Thanks to the generous support of United Healthcare, HHFF was given the honor of publicly thanking US Army Crew Chief and door Gunner, Mike Nolan, during the pre-game recognition time slot at the Diamondbacks Stadium on September 14, 2015.  United Healthcare also provided 100 tickets to the game that night for our military families.  The following is the text for the recognition.

“Fans, please turn your attention to the field to welcome Darin Fishburn, the CEO of Helping Hands for Freedom, and US Army Crew Chief and door Gunner, Mike Nolan. While serving in Vietnam, Mike was given a rescue mission. While on that mission, their helicopter was unarmed and under heavy fire, so it was up to Mike to return fire.  He held his position until the rescue mission was complete and was credited for saving the lives of his entire unit.  Mike received the Purple Heart and the Silver Star for his heroism.

Mike now lives in Phoenix and owns Accounting and Finance Personnel, INC. He has dedicated his life to helping non-profits succeed. Mike is still serving on multiple boards and he is the heart behind Helping Hands for Freedom.

Please join us today in welcoming Darin Fishburn and Mike Nolan for their dedication to our fallen and wounded heroes.  They are here, along other military families, thanks to United Health Care!! Thank you to United Health Care for sponsoring Helping Hands for Freedom and their Heroes at the game tonight.”
