Over 320 Military Children & Families attend Diamondbacks 4th of July Celebration

Posted July 5, 2013 by Rodney Smith

PHOENIX, ARIZONA – July 5, 2013 – Helping Hands for Freedom thanks the Arizona Diamondbacks for their ongoing support of our military children and families. Over 320 military families from HHFF were able to attend the sold out "Fireworks" game on July 5th vs. the Colorado Rockies. The Independence Day festivities recognized and paid tribute to not only our military families but honored the memory of the 19 firefighters from Prescott, Arizona who perished fighting the Yarnelll fire.

The Arizona Diamondbacks take great pride in being recognized as a leader in community giving. Established in 1997, before the Diamondbacks ever played a Major League game, the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation was established. The mission of the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation is to support three main areas of need: homelessness, indigent healthcare and children's programs of all types, including education and youth baseball field development. In addition, the Foundation has created strategic programs that address the needs of the community including veterans, police, teachers, and firefighters – just to name a few.

A special thanks to Debbie Castaldo, Vice President, Corporate & Community Impact, and everyone with the Diamondbacks organization.
